Meg Atchison, 43, of Midland passed away on Friday, March 30, 2007 in Midland.Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Monday, April 2, 2007 at Kelview Heights Baptist Church in Midland with Rev. Jerry Berry, Pastor, officiating. Meg was born on May 1, 1963 in Hollis, Oklahoma to Thomas Murray Vann and Jacqueline Powers Vann. She was raised in Stanton, graduated from Stanton High School in 1980, and started her career in banking in Stanton. She married Frank Atchison on September 20, 1980 in Stanton. She moved to Monahans in 1991, where she worked for First National Bank of Monahans. She was a past member of Southside Baptist Church. She moved to Midland in 2004, where she was the branch manager of TexStar Bank. She was a current member of Kelview Heights Baptist Church. She was preceded in by her parents; and father-in-law, Wieland Atchison.She is survived by her husband: Frank Atchison of Midland; 2 sons: Riley Atchison and wife Sarah of Midland and Jared Atchison of Midland; 3 sisters: Ronnie Epley of Big Spring, Nancy Denman and husband Mike of Tuscola, and Julie Hattersley and husband Pat of Beeville; mother-in-law: Gertie Atchison of Stanton; brother-in-law: Wayne Atchison of Stanton; nieces: Shannon Atchison of Midland and Courtney Poitevint and husband Harrison of Stanton; nephews: Kevin and Braden Denman of Abilene; great nieces: Jordyn, Neeley, and Claire Poitevint of Stanton; and great nephew: Benjamin Crockett of Stanton.Memorials may be sent to U.T. TO MEG'S FAMILY, YOU GUYS WERE THE LIGHT OF HER LIFE. ONE OF THE FEW PEOPLE THAT TRULY DESERVED TO BE CALLED A FRIEND. I AM SO SORRY, I DID NOT KNOW MEG HAD PASSED. SHE WILL BE TRULY MISSED.

To Meg's family and Frank's family we are so sorry to hear of Meg's passing. We remember her as a teenager growing up in Stanton, she was a very smart girl. I am really sorry to hear about your great loss. Meg was a great person to be around and work with. I worked with her about 5 years and did not always see things eye to eye, but I did respect her. Meg was one of the stongest people that I have ever met. She showed stong to everyone during her first battle with cancer. All of our prayers to the family during this difficult time. Just rememeber she will always live in your heart. God bless you all!!

We worked together many years ago at FNB in Stanton. Meg was only about 20 years old and she and Frank were expecting Riley when we met. Meg was so kind and helpful to me and I've never forgotten that. Even though she was so young, Meg had this amazing maturity and wisdom, a sharp wit and delightful sense of humor. As a young mother, Riley was the light of her life. We lost touch after I left the bank but I ran into her in Midland two or three years ago and we took a little time to catch up. My deepest sympathy to Frank and the boys, as well as Meg's entire family.

Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Meg hired me when I moved to Monahans and I missed her when she moved to Midland. She was a great lady. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. She will be greatly missed.
