Media Meek Cunningham, 85, of Big Spring died Thursday, May 17, 2018 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, May 21, 2018 at the Birdwell Lane Church of Christ with Greg Surles officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Sunday, May 20, 2018 at the funeral home.Media was born August 11, 1932 in Big Spring to James and Helen Meek. She was a lifetime resident of Big Spring. She married Billy Wayland Cunningham August 5, 1948 and he preceded her in death April 13, 2012. Gardening, sewing, and crocheting were her favorite things to do, but her biggest love was her family and church family.She was a member of Birdwell Lane Church of Christ and taught Sunday school for over 50 years.Media is survived by two sons, James F. Cunningham and wife, Florinda of Alexandria, Virginia, and Danny Cunningham and wife, Debra of Midland; a daughter, Brenda Lawson and husband, Doyle of Big Spring; four grandchildren, Brian Cunningham, Ricky Cunningham and wife, Laura, Steve Lawson, and Theresa Veliz and husband, Peter; five great-grandchildren, Avery Cunningham, Rylan Cunningham, Colton Cunningham, Emily Thompson, and Nicholas Veliz; and one sister, Jolene Starrak of Coleman.In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents; one brother; and two sisters.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Birdwell Lane Church of Christ, 1616 E. 11th Place, Big Spring, Texas 79720.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory.
