Maxine Rathburn, 81, of Midland, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2007 at the Hospice Inpatient Unit of Midland. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, May 17, 2007 at Resthaven Memorial Park with Don Mitchell of Fairmont Park Church of Christ in Midland, officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. She was born on August 19, 1925 in Ranger, Texas to John Hall and Leenora Gatlin Hall. She attended high school in Ranger, and then married Carl Rathburn in September 1946 in Laredo, Texas. They had lived in South America and lived all over the United States. They moved to Midland in 1963, and her husband preceded her in death in 1968. She retired from Sears after 20 years. She loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; John and Leenora Hall; brother, Vivon Ray Hall; and sister, Alice Joy Lewis.She is survived by her 3 daughters: Ronda Carper, Candyce Garner, and Cara Shoaff, all of Midland; 1 brother: John Bill Hall of Houston; 2 sisters: Hattie Carolyn Glynn of Houma, Lousiana and Romelle Evans of The Woodlands; 3 grandchildren: Zachary Trout, Carl Carper, and Holly Gonzales; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.Memorials may be sent to Hospice of Midland, PO Box 2621, Midland, Texas 79702.,
