Maxine Corkins, 77, of Midland, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 in Midland. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 24, 2007 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Alpine with Bill Brooks, officiating. Interment will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in Alpine. The family will receive friends at 6:00 pm, Friday, November 23, 2007 at Geeslin Funeral Home in Alpine.Maxine was born on August 19, 1930 in Elmer, Oklahoma to Mack and Eva Flood. She married Robert K. (Bob) Corkins on August 10, 1948 in Alpine.Maxine was totally devoted to her family, friends and her religion. She adored and loved her grandchildren; they were the light of her life. She was always giving of her time and love to all she came in contact with. She will be remembered for her love of life and her family.Maxine lived a long productive and righteous life of service to her family, church and community. She always shared her testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with her family and friends. She leaves a rich heritage of faith, devotion and charity to all her posterity. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.Survivors include husband, Bob of Midland; son, Greg Corkins and wife, Kelly of Alpine; daughter, Cathy and husband, Mike Neie of Midland; five grandchildren, Erinn Corkins of San Antonio, Lynn Corkins of Phoenix, Arizona, Devin Corkins and wife, Carrie of Lubbock, Keith Neie of Midland, and Chaela Neie of Midland; and one great granddaughter.The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 2304 W Wadley Avenue, Midland, TX 79705.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
