Max O’Neil Scarbrough, Sr., 67, of Midland passed away on Monday, January 11, 2016. Memorial services will be held at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel at 1:00pm on Wednesday, January 13, 2016.Max was born November 14, 1948 in Houston, Texas to Sandie and Sylvia Scarbrough. Max has been with the love of his life, Jo Ann, for 53 years. They were married for 50 years, celebrating that golden anniversary on August 27, 2015. Together they had five children: son, Max Scarbrough, Jr. and wife Melissa; daughter, Tammy Scarbrough; daughter, Sandy Copeland and husband David; daughter, Joanna Builta and husband Dusty; and son, Loren Scarbrough and wife Amanda. They had 20 grandkids and 22 great grandkids.Max had a Masters Plumbing license. He was the owner of Drigger Supply for 30 years. He retired as owner of Tall City Motors at the time of his death. He enjoyed collecting guns and knives, and was an avid coin collector. He enjoyed playing poker with his best friends, Bud, James and Kevin.Max was a people person. He was a caring, generous, loving and spiritual man, who would give anyone the shirt off his back. Max would always give without a second thought of receiving.He is survived by wife, Jo Ann Scarbrough; his children; brother, Jackie and wife Glenna; sister, Kathy and husband David; and sister, Margaret Ann Chaney. He is preceded in death by father, Sandie Scarbrough; mother, Sylvia Tutor; brother, Sandy Bon; brothers, Danny Ray and Gerald Scarbrough; and one granddaughter, Krysta Copeland.Honorary pallbearers will be Loren Scarbrough, Max Scarbrough, David Copeland, Bud Cleere, James Garner, and Dusty Builta.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
