Maurine \Granmommy\ Hanks, 100, of Big Spring, died Sunday, January 13, 2013, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 PM, Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Derrick Looney, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, January 14, 2013, at the funeral home.She was born July 8, 1912, in Runnels County, Texas and married Porter Hanks February 1, 1929 in Borden County, Texas. He preceded her in death May 26, 1964.Maurine and Porter owned and operated the grocery store, gas station and Post Office in Vealmoor for 32 years. She was a member of Chapter 67 Order of the Eastern Star, Social Order of Beauceant and the American Business Women's Association. She was also a member of First Baptist Church of Ackerly.Survivors include two daughters, Glenodene Williams of Big Spring and Wilella Tucker of Vealmoor; six grandchildren, Sheryl Gass and Debra Lusk both of Big Spring, Kevva Anderson, Deidre Smith and Darin Tucker all of Borden County and Geary Williams of Colorado City; one sister, Wanda Clayton of Uvalde; 14 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.She was also preceded in death by three brothers.The family suggests memorials be made to Borden County EMS, P.
