Maurice Paul Knapp, of Midland passed away on April 1, 2015. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 11:00AM at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland.Maurice Paul Knapp was born on September 23, 1932 in Dansville, New York. He married Janet Herendeen on June 28, 1953 in Phelps, New York. He was inducted into the U. S. Army in November 1952 and discharged in November, 1954. Maurice was trained on guided missiles in Huntsville, Alabama, and then transferred to White Sand’s Proving ground, New Mexico. He retired from Otis Elevator Company. He was instrumental installing the elevators in the new First National Bank of Midland in 1957.Survived by spouse Janet H. Knapp, and son, Darryl Paul Knapp, sister, Marva Knapp Fridley, Brother-in-law, Donald Fridley of Phelps, New York; sister-in-law June H. Geis of El Paso, Texas; sister-in-law Avis Knapp of El Paso, Texas. He is preceded in death by his brother Morgan Lee Knapp of El Paso, Texas; brother-in-law Warren R. Herendeen; mother, Loretta Paine Knapp, and father, Paul Isaac Knapp of Phelps, New York.The family would like to express their gratitude toward Midland Memorial Hospital, Hospice of Midland, TacMed, all attendant physicians and nurses, and Fr.
