Maurice Hood

February 26, 1939 - January 24, 2026

Maurice Hood passed away peacefully on 1-24-2026 surrounded by family. He was born in Abilene, Texas on February 26, 1939, to UL and Elsie Hood.  He is preceded in death by sisters Julia Stefanik and Selma Hood, his brothers Howard Hood, Dwight Hood and Darrell Hood.  He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Billie, daughters, Diane Cunningham (Brian), Denise Strickland (Randal), grandsons, Tyler Johnson (Ellen) and Caleb Strickland, great grandsons, John Matthew Johnson and Nolan Johnson and several nieces and nephews.

He was a retired banker, having been employed by various finance companies and banks throughout his career. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and family.  He was an avid golfer and fisherman and enjoyed time spent with his grandsons.  He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

There are no services scheduled at this time.  There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
