Mattie P. Buckalew Fuller, 99, of Big Spring, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 22, 2007, in a local nursing home. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, December 27, 2007 at the 14th and Main Church of Christ with her son, Don Fuller and Royce Clay, a Church of Christ minister, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.She was born on January 30, 1908, in Shepherd, Texas and married James Holbert Fuller on September 27, 1927 in Colorado City, Texas. After 73 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on February 13, 2001.She moved to Big Spring in 1932 from Colorado City. She loved gardening, canning, baking, and was an excellant seamstress. Mattie was a wonderful mother, Mamaw and Christian lady. She was a member of the 14th and Main Church of Christ for over 70 years and was the oldest living member.Survivors include two daughters, JoAnn Scott and husband, Richard of Odessa and Sherry Wegner and husband, Bob of Big Spring; one son, Donald Fuller and wife, Dottie of Garland; a son-in-law, Kenneth Archer of Odessa; 17 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Laverne Archer; her parents, two grandsons, Richard Scott and Robert Casey; and one granddaughter, Rhonda Schaaf.The family suggests memorials to the 14th and Main Church of Christ Youth Fund, 1401 Main, Big Spring, Texas 79720 or to the charity of your choice.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
