Mattie's service, "as she ordered it", blessed my heart. Thank you. I met her at The Compassionate Friends after her grandson Adam died. She came for herself first, but kept coming FOR OTHERS. And when the night meetings were no longer convenient, she helped afternoons to get the newsletters ready to mail. She never missed a Christmas Candlelight Memorial Program and insisted on bringing the paper goods, saying she bought them on sale after Christmas for the next year. She will be thought of and missed at TCF work days and Christmas programs. God bless and keep you, and hold you close - esp. her Buddy.

She has always been a WONDERFUL person!! She knew I loved the story of Noah's Ark....and when she came to Michigan, She gave me a Noah's ark to hang on my wall. It will always hang. UNCLE BUDDY...I LOVE YOU!! I wish I had the chance to live near you and see you more..but my dad loves you and his whole family. It was hard to see my dad face Grandma Lena's funeral. It was hard for me to face my dad's. Aunt Mattie has touched many people....and Unle Buddy, you have too....You both hold a special place in my heart. I love you! I wish your family (which is mine too, we just don't get to meet)) a MOST special and healthy life! God Bless All of Mattie's family.Aunt Mattie wil always hold a SPECAIL place in my heart. I will meet her in heaven some day.

We remember Mattie as a super cheerful person, wonderful friend, and enthusiastic worker. We worked with Mattie at the VA and she always made the room brighter when she entered because of her cheerful countenance.

Susan - My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family at this time. I have so many memories of when we were young. I remember coming over to your house after church and playing games and walking to the 7-11 on Wasson Road to get those giant sweet tarts and jolly rogers candy. Your Mother has been such a blessing to so many of us. She is truly going to be missed. It's been a long time since I've been back home to Big Spring but every time I went to Berea Baptist Church your Mother was always there. She had that special place in the left pew close to the front of the church where she always sat. My Mom and Dad (Charles & Patsy Bledsoe) moved to Trinity, Texas to be closer to us so we don't get up that way much anymore. I just want you to know that I am thinking of you and your family. Your Mother left this earth on September 29, 2008 but the moment she took her last breath she was in the presence of Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior. Oh the joy she must be feeling right now. Some day we will all be together again because this is what God has promised us. Take care of yourself and your family.
