To all, just read the passing of your mother in the Colorado Record. Don't know if you remember us--lived next door to you in the 60's out on Snyder Highway. Tim and Jim and I were in the same grade. Was so fond of your mother in those days. Remember most the day she made pancakes for all of us and bacon. Must have been alot of blueberry pancakes for your 6 and our 5. We are all doing well. Debbie is in Post--4 grands, Darla in Lamesa--6 grands, me-Danna--no grands yet, Mitch in Midland--2 in college, and DeeAnn in Weatherford--both her kids married last summer. Our mother is in Midland, declining health but doing well. Our dad died years ago, like about 20. Take care and be blessed and know your family was a blessing to us. Danna

My heart goes out to your family. I wanted to let you know Ms Mary left a wonderful feeling in my heart each time I saw her. Several yrs. ago on Valentine's Day, Ms Mary was shopping @ HEB, where I work. When we made eye contact, my heart swelled. Her sweet smile & that "twinkle" in her eye..... I thought the Lord had returned my Grandma! We would chat a bit every time she came in and just that "twinkle" would make the rest of my day! I will miss MY favorite customer, and will always be grateful that I met such a beautiful lady!

Esther, and all the boys, I am so sorry to hear of Sis. Strain's passing. If there was ever anyone on earth who lived her life totally for God, it had to be her. She was a most wonderful comfort to me in my time of need all those many years ago. I have never forgotten her and Sis. Brian and all they did for me. A lady like Sis. Strain is just not forgotten. We have traveled many miles, lived in many places, and met many people since we last saw Sis. Strain. But I feel as though we had never been apart. I just loved her so much and thought of her through the years. I loved the letters she wrote to me. There are just not enough words to express my feelings for her and your family. God is so very good to us, and He truly smiled on me when I met Sis. Mary Strain. He also blessed me to have a phone conversation with her on her birthday. I treasure those moments. God be with you all, and the Holy Ghost, who is our comforter, give you the peace that passeth all understanding. Love you! Virginia Jackson

Sis. Strain was a mother to many people. Her gentle spirit and clear convictions were pillars of faith in the household of the righteous. While we are saddened to lose such a giant in the faith, we rejoice with her for the victory she now celebrates in the presence of the Lord Jesus. As missionaries, we have been blessed by her prayer and financial support. The legacy she left behind will be present in her children and grandchildren. Our hearts and prayers go out to our dear friend Esther and family. We love you and trust the Father to care for you in this difficult time of loss. Rich blessings to all. -Loren and Judy Sprowl
