Mary Sue Harrison

Mary Sue Harrison, 96, of Midland, Texas, entered into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, August 2, 2026. She was born on October 14, 1929, to Victor and Lydia Martin in Claremore, Oklahoma, and grew up in Nowata, Oklahoma. After graduating from Nowata High School, she pursued higher education at Oklahoma State University.
Mary Sue married the love of her life, RG (Bud) Harrison, on January 30, 1950. They were married 70 years before Bud’s passing in 2020.
Her dedication and strong work ethics led to a long, fulfilling career in banking. She began her journey at the bank in Jal, New Mexico. After her family moved to Midland in 1967, she continued to nurture her passion for the banking industry at Commercial Bank & Trust, where she remained until her retirement in 1985.

Mary Sue enjoyed traveling and reading. She was an avid bridge player and deeply cherished the friendships she formed within her bridge groups. Thank you to all these wonderful ladies for loving her well. You gave her much happiness.

Mary Sue was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church in Midland. She will be remembered for her outgoing personality and steadfast devotion to her family, friends, church, and community. She volunteered countless hours to her church and numerous other organizations and outreaches. Her love for her family and friends was unsurpassed. She loved her boys, Marty and Doug, unconditionally, forever and always. She instilled in them the value of hard work, honesty, and integrity through her words and actions. Mary Sue was your typical proud, doting Grandma and Gigi. She treasured all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren greatly.

We will cherish your memory forever, Mother, and will miss you so very, very much! Now it is time for you to rest. Just know we will love you forever.

Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Martin Harrison (Wanda) and Doug Harrison (Kim), 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Carol Lester.
Mary Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Lydia Martin, her husband, Bud, and her brother, Harry Martin.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the chapel at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home 2:00pm, Thursday, August 6, 2026.
