Mary Robin Richey, 61, passed away on June 29, 2023, in Midland, Texas after a courageous six-month journey with pancreatic cancer. She was predeceased by her parents, Herbert L. Richey, Jr. and Ida Mae McManus Richey, and her brother, Peter Mitchell Richey, and is survived by her husband of twenty years, Gary T. Brednich (whose children and grandchildren she embraced as her own), brothers Herbert L. Richey III (Jennifer) and Joseph P. Richey (Bunnie), six nieces and nephews, and twelve great-nieces and great-nephews.
Robin was born in South Carolina and lived in Georgia, Maryland, Iowa, and Louisiana before settling in Texas as a young woman. There, she became a member of Golf Course Church of Christ in Midland and enjoyed a successful career as a banker, serving as Vice-President of First National Bank of Midland from 2004 to 2010 before becoming Executive Vice-President of the Private Banking Division at First Capital Bank of Texas (now Prosperity Bank) in Midland. She worked tirelessly on behalf of the Alzheimer’s Association, to which memorial gifts are requested. Memorial gifts also may be made to Hospice of Midland (911 W. Texas Ave., Midland, TX 79701, hospiceofmidland.org). Guided by her faith in the forgiving, healing, and reconciling love of God, she was joyfully and authentically present in the lives of all who knew her. Her family wishes to thank her dear friends, Patti Kincaid and Terri Torres, for their unfailing love and care of Robin during her illness.
