Mary Opal Suggs

Mary Opal Suggs, 94, of Big Spring, died on Monday, October 24, 2005, in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 27, 2005 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Dr. Randy Cotton, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.She was born on September 3, 1911, in Hubbard City, Texas and married James Irvin Suggs on August 14, 1936 in Abilene, Texas. He preceded her in death on April 25, 2000.Mary moved to Abilene in 1923 from Corsicana and came to Big Spring in 1943. She was a homemaker and loved gardening and sewing. An active member of Trinity Baptist Church, she taught Sunday School for many years.Survivors include one sister and brother-in-law, Eloise and Roy Watkins of Big Spring, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.The family suggests memorials be made to Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund or Mission Fund, 810 E. 11th Place, Big Spring, Texas 79720.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
