Mary Gray, 73, of Lake Thomas, died on Monday, December 25, 2006, in Conroe,Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, December 29, 2006 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with John Snider, minister of Greenwood Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will follow at Gail Cemetery.She was born on January 29, 1933, in Stanton, Texas and married J. W. Gray on November 15, 1949 in Ira, Texas. He preceded her in death on August 28, 1984.Mrs. Gray had lived at Lake Thomas since 1962. She had owned and operated cafes at Vincent and Lake J.B. Thomas. She and her late husband also owned and operated J.W. Gray Dirt Contracting and after his death she continued to operate it until 1996. She served as an election judge for many years in Borden County. She and her husband had traveled over the world with his job. She was a member of Vincent Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and had started a Spanish ministry.Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy W. and Brenda Gray of Midland; three daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Joe Stewart of Magnolia, Carrol and Danny Gibbs of Wichita Falls, Linda and Dennis Moon of Costa Rica; three brothers, Jimmie J. Bryant, and Eugene Bryant both of Big Spring, and Raymond Bryant of Lake Thomas; one sister, Dorothy Buchanan also of Lake Thomas; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
