Mary Frances Burchett Martin went home to be with the Lord Saturday, December 20, 2014, at Midland Memorial Hospital. She was born north of Big Spring, Texas August 1, 1933, the daughter of H. T. and Essie Burchett. She was diagnosed with MDS and never gave up. She never complained, maintaining a brave and cheerful outlook – even though she was in pain and exhausted at times. Always a lady with class, she was loved by all those she came into contact with. She was filled with compassion and interest for others. She faced many hardships during her life and always relied on the Lord and always put her faith in Him. She will be missed greatly by her family and friends.After graduating from Stanton High School, she married her high school beau, Floyd Martin, August 5, 1945. Married for 61 years, Floyd and Frances raised four children. Possessing a true servant’s heart, Frances faithfully cared for her family and friends through delicious cooking and baking from scratch, including hosting many bridal showers and parties. She worked as a bookkeeper at the Grady School. Frances had an unwavering faith in God and was a member of the Lenorah Baptist Church. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling and laughter, will never be forgotten.Frances was preceded in death by her loving husband, Floyd; her parents; two sons, Larry and Lonny Martin; and one grandchild, L. V. Welch. She is survived by two daughters, Charlotte Welch of Midland and Belinda DeArman of Plano. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Monica Johnson, Scottie Welch, Waylon Martin, Travis Martin, Terri McDaniel and Alyssa DeArman; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is Virginia Martin of Midland and her two sons, Jeff and Ray Duke; and Jeff DeArman.The family is very appreciative of the love and support by many of her friends over these last few months.The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, December 22, 2014 at Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Stanton.
