Mary Elizabeth Murphey Russell Linthicum, 90, of Midland went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 11, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, February 15, 2016 at Golf Course Road Church of Christ in Midland. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at Fairmont Cemetery in San Angelo.Mary Elizabeth was born in San Angelo, TX, on July 15, 1925, to the late Thomas Jarrett Murphey and Elta Teola Windham Murphey. Her childhood was rooted in the ranching communities of San Angelo and Barnhart; she went on to graduate from San Angelo High School in 1943. After earning a Biology degree from Lindenwood College in Missouri, she followed her heart back to West Texas and married Teddy Edmund Russell on August 17, 1946. She and Teddy returned to the family ranch in Barnhart where she also taught 5th and 6th grade until starting her family of three girls. She lost her beloved war hero to Hodkins Lymphoma in 1960 and later remarried to Eugene Harold Linthicum in 1963, whom she shared many great adventures until his passing in 1979.Combining her love of Christ with her love of West Texas ranching, she fulfilled a great mission of shipping sheep to Israel in her pursuit of sharing the Gospel with God’s chosen people. She also worked fervently to plant orchards with the Jewish National Fund and build the Assaf Harofeh underground hospital for the people of Israel. Never relenting in spreading God’s Word, she travelled the globe to share the Gospel, even risking her life to get Bibles into China.Though health complications slowed her pursuit of hearts around the world, she gracefully transitioned into sharing the Gospel with those at her bedside. Then appeared her guardian angel, Dr. Charlie Rabinowitz, who she loved so very dearly like a son. He worked to give her longer life on Earth while she helped shepherd him in finding eternal life in Christ. His love and special care afforded her the opportunity to see her family grow and to make lasting memories. She knew no stranger in her pursuit of winning souls for the Lord – whether planting seeds of faith in Israel, sharing her faith with loving caregivers, encouraging her family to lean into Him, or simply sharing the Gospel with anyone with whom she crossed paths. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Tommye Beryl Murphey Boothe, and brother-in-law, Ray H. Boothe, of Sweetwater. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Karen, and her son-in-law, Tim Bennie, of San Angelo; grandson, Bryan, of Ozona; great granddaughter, Abby; granddaughter, Annah, of Austin; daughter, Melody Rose Sublett, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; grandson, Ted, and wife, April, of Inola, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Tanner, Tate and Addison; grandson, Tom, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Justin, Dakota, Emma, Max and Dawson; granddaughter, Ruth, and husband, Charley Feeley, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Brooklyn and Charlie Jr.; daughter, Rebecca, and her son-in-law, Pat Clinch, of Midland; granddaughter, Sarah, and husband, Austin Moffitt, of Midland; great-grandchildren, Crawford and Mary Elizabeth; granddaughter, Elizabeth, of Midland; her sister, Elta Joyce Murphey McAfee, and brother-in-law, Millard McAfee, of San Angelo; and many other precious extended family members.Pallbearers will be Tim Bennie, Bryan Bennie, Pat Clinch, Charley Feeley, Austin Moffitt, Dr. Charles Rabinowitz, Ted Sublett and Tom Sublett.
