Mary Edna Rodgers, 79, of Big Spring, died on Thursday, April 17, 2008, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, April 21, 2008, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Sammy Segundo, pastor of Family Faith Victory Center, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.The family will receive friends from 3 PM to 5 PM Sunday at the funeral home.She was born on August 21, 1928, in Dawson, Texas and married John Franklin Rodgers on February 9, 1944 in Stamford, Texas.Mrs. Rodgers had been a resident of Big Spring since 1947 moving from Stamford. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and tending to plants. She loved her family and serving others. She attended Family Faith Victory Center and had been active with the Women's Auxiliary at College Park Church Of God.Survivors include her husband, Johnnie Rodgers of Big Spring; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmie and Carolyn Rodgers of Big Spring, Carl and Debby Rodgers of Sand Springs and Johnnie and Susie Rodgers of Sharpsburg, Georgia; six daughters and five sons-in-law, Edna and David Rawls of Big Spring, Linda and Raymond Plaster of Granbury, Kay Flowers of Coahoma, Sue and Mike Sizenbach of Big Spring, Beverly and James Wilkerson of Big Spring, and Becky and Bryan Letz of Big Spring; twenty grandchildren; thirty-three great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and her brother, A. J. Patterson and wife, Violet of Big Spring. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Alex and Minnie Edna Patterson; two grandsons, David Rawls, Jr. and Jonathan Ray Letz; two great-great grandchildren, Lexi Jean and Addy Ann Rawls and 8 brothers and sisters.
