She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Jerry Swain of Midland; her daughter-in-law, Nell Burgess of Big Spring; her son and daughter-in -law, Ronnie and Marilyn Burgess of Midland;?and 9 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.?Mary graduated from Eliasville High School in 1936, and on February 8, 1939 married Jim Burgess.? They lived in Kermit for several years after leaving Graham, and moved to Big Spring, in 1959, where she resided for over 40 years.? During that time she was an active?member of the Sand Springs Church of Christ, worked for the Howard County Water District and fed the entire community with her wonderful home cooking that included fresh made pies and cobblers.? For the most part, Mary, was a homemaker?who was always there for her family.? They came first, she was the heart and soul of?the family, always drawing us all together with open arms.? Mary Burgess, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother will be dearly missed.? We love you.Graveside services will be held at 9:00 AM Monday, June 12, 2006 in Graham, Texas at the Veal Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, June 11, 2006 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home in Graham.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, 4400 N.
