On September 26, 2023, Mary Ann (Ellis) Reeves passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Mary Ann has found eternal peace in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Mary Ann was born in Abilene, Texas, on December 10, 1960. She spent her childhood in Sweetwater and attended Texas Tech University. She married her high school sweetheart, Michael Reeves. Mary Ann was a highly respected elementary school teacher for 25 years in the Midland Independent School District. She later became a certified dyslexia specialist.
Mary Ann retired and pursued her desire to travel. She along with eight retired teachers/friends traveled all over the United States. The traveling friends loved participating in Road Scholar Educational Tours. Mary Ann loved mountain destinations. She was captivated by God’s beautiful handiwork. They frequently visited Ruidoso, New Mexico. Her favorite trip was touring Denali National Park in Alaska.
Mary Ann was an avid game player. She loved playing dominos, cards and pool with family and friends. She was a fierce competitor.
Mary Ann was deeply loved by her family and friends. Her love for and faith in God through Jesus Christ was evident in all aspects of her life.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Reeves, and parents, Wayne and Patricia Ellis. She is survived by her brother, Mike Ellis, and wife Ginger of Belton, brother, Patrick Ellis, and wife Lori of Corsicana, and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends will honor Mary Ann with a private graveside memorial at Serenity Memorial Gardens Monday, October 2nd, in Midland. Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home is coordinating the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of your choice.
