What a beautiful and wonderful woman! It was such an honor to get to know her through the 90th birthday party and all her visits to the studio after the event. She was so strong, yet always gentle and sweet. She was dedicated to God, her precious First Methodist Church and always... to her family. Each time she came, Mary told us stories about her beloved children and grandchildren. How proud she was of all of you! She talked about her children and their spouses with the same love and affection. We admire her spunk, her independence and just loved to sit and talk to her. Zina & I know you will miss her terribly and our prayers are with you.

Although I did not have the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Hughes, I have been lucky and blessed to be able to call her son and daughter-in-law, Steve & Cindy, my friends. My sympathy to her entire family and the friends she touched. May you all find comfort in the memories you hold in your hearts.

Mary and I worked at Big Spring State in the early sixties. I was away from home and she was like a mother to me. I had the privledge of visiting her once again in 2005. For that I an very grateful. She was a wonderful person and I will never forget her.

There really are no words that can describe how it feels to loose your MOM,so I won't even try. I will say though , that you will always rember her weather its with a tear or a smile and thats what will always be with you. Try if you can to remember all the good times and the things you did together in your childhood, those are the thoughts to hold on to. I believe that some day we will see them again, but not too soon we got alot of trails to ride. Love ya man. c-ya rodg
