Marvin D. Parkhill, 86, of Big Spring, died on Friday, May 21, 2004, in a local hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, May 24, 2004 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Rick Cunningham, minister of 14th and Main Church of Christ, officiating.He was born on January 21, 1918, in Munday, Texas and married Virginia Harris on May 1, 1940 in Big Spring, Texas.Marvin came to Big Spring as a young boy. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He had worked as a truck driver for Cosden for 38 years and was a member of the Cosden 25 Year Club. He was also a member of 14th and Main Church of Christ.Survivors include his wife, Virginia Parkhill of Big Spring; one son & daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Charlene Parkhill of Big Spring; one son-in-law, Kenneth Berry of Grapevine; five grandchildren, Rhonda Avant of Big Spring, Lisa Beltran of Midland, Robert Woodard of Sunset, Susan Anderson of Flower Mound and Jennifer Berry of Grapevine; four great grandchildren, Tyler Avant of Big Spring, Shelby Anderson, Jarod Anderson and Blake Anderson all of Flower Mound. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Vickie Berry; one brother, Merle Parkhill; and two sisters, Evelyn Hanson and Estelle Anderson.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
