Funeral services for Marvelene Anderson, 84, of Kingsland, will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 7, 2002, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Perry Cotham, of Arlington, and Rick Cunningham, minister of 14th and Main Church of Christ in Big Spring, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. Mrs. Anderson died on Wednesday, September 4, 2002, in Arlington, following a long illness. She was born on December 3, 1917 in Powell's Chapel, Arkansas to Vera and Corbet Duncan. She married John B. Anderson on May 6, 1935. She was a graduate of the School of Cosmetology where she obtained her license. She owned and operated Anderson Beauty Shop in Forsan until her retirement. Marvelene and John B. moved to Howard County as a young married couple looking for employment. They spent their early years working for farmers by pulling cotton and doing odd jobs to survive. Later they moved to Forsan where they made their home and brought up their family. Before Mr. Anderson's death, they lived and worked on the Chalk Ranch. Marvelene loved her family, music, things of nature; she loved God most of all and lived her life as a faithful Christian. She was an accomplished seamstress, quilter and creator of many beautiful crafted items. She was known for wonderful creations from the kitchen, especially the meals prepared from very few ingredients. She was the queen of,
