Our beloved Martha Sue Ewing, 83 of Midland was welcomed into heaven on Thursday, May 15, 2014 surrounded by her family. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 1:00PM at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Cooper, Texas. Memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 1:00PM at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Midland with Pastor Randy Thomas and Chaplain Robert Kirk officiating.Sue was born on January 7, 1931, in Cooper, Texas to J.C. and Ellie Smith. She graduated from Cooper High School in 1948 and then married the love of her life Kenneth Wayne Ewing. Sue and Kenneth moved to Paris, Texas where they started their family. Four of their five children were born in Paris before moving to Austin where their fifth child was born. They moved to Midland in 1965 and that is where they raised their children. Sue worked for Sears for 26 years as an Interior Designer. Sue travelled the world and touched many lives through her kindness and sense of humor. She devoted her life to helping others through her volunteering for Hospice of Midland, Meals on Wheels and her involvement in St. Paul United Methodist Church, where she was an active member and past President of the Golden Friendship Sunday School Class. She was an avid bridge player and was a member of a ladies bridge club. Sue was an amazing seamstress and loved to sew for her children and grandchildren.She is survived by daughters, Jan Stone of Arlington; Julie Dickey and husband Les of Weatherford; Jeanne Robinson of Midland; son, Jerry Ewing and wife Karen of Midland; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Sue is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Ewing and son Jay Ewing.Our family would like to thank Hospice of Midland, her nurse, Jennifer Noble and her caregivers Blasa Brown, Dinora Frias and Teena McKinney for their love and attention they gave our mom. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be donated to Hospice of Midland.,
