Martha Lorene Cave, 87, of Ackerly, died on Saturday, March 26, 2005, in a Lamesa hospital. Martha Lorene Cave, 87, of Ackerly, died on Saturday, March 26, 2005, in a Lamesa hospital. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.Mrs. Cave was born on May 31, 1917, in Oklahoma and married Fred Cave on March 30, 1935. He preceded her in death on February 22, 1990.She had lived 80 years in the Flower Grove community. She was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church. She was a charter member of The West of 50 Camp at Roaring Springs, Texas, a senior adult group of the Assembly of God Church and never missed a summer attending the camp. She was a 5th generation Sunday school teacher, teaching preschoolers was her joy. She was an avid gardener and loved to share her produce with family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, playing the mandolin and traveling, especially fishing trips to Mexico with family. She had a caring heart and was always visiting the sick. She seemed to never meet a stranger, always visiting and showing concern for those she met. She was proud of her family and loved family gatherings, where she cooked for them. She loved her church and the Lord, always ready to serve and witness to others. Survivors include four sons and three daughters-in-law, Jerry and Lavonda Cave, Daniel and Zada Cave, all of Ackerly, and David and Nancy Cave, who are missionaries to Mexico, and Dennis Cave of Ackerly; one sister, Imogene Hammond of Lamesa; 7 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
