Martha “MeMaw” Jane Baker

Martha “MeMaw” Baker, 82 of Midland passed away on September 28, 2023. A visitation will take place, 12:00pm – 5:00pm, Sunday, October 1, 2023 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. A Graveside service will be held, at 11:00 am Monday, October 2, 2023 at Fairview Cemetery in Midland.

Martha was born on June 29, 1941 in Wolfe City, Texas to Desi and Roy Parum. She married Jack Baker on April 14, 1956 and married for 51 years. She had ten brothers and sisters whom she loved dearly. Her youth was spent in cotton fields all over Texas and New Mexico. The Parum family worked side by side in the cotton fields to survive. Martha married at a young age and followed her husband in the oilfield and raised her kids the remainder of her life.

She was loved by all who came in contact with her. Martha was known for her loving kindness. She will be missed dearly by all.

Martha is survived by her children, Rita and Lonnie Burcham, Lanita and Richard Summer, Marla and Rodney Pool, Zeke and Karen Baker, Eddie Baker, Krystal and Jake Woods; sixty-one grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Bobby Jack Baker; husband, Jack Alton Baker; two brothers and two sisters.
