Welby and I have many good memories of this lovely lady through the First Baptist Church in Big Spring. Being in the Senior Adult Choir with her was always a good experience. Having her as a partner when playing '80' with a group of ladies each Friday was usually a winning experience but if she was an opponent it was difficult to win. It was a blessing to be counted as a friend of Martha's. May the Lord bless each family member.Essie Jackson

To the Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren--Our families have been connected since my mother, Ruth Johnson Cook, taught Martha (Gran) when she was 8 years old. Their family's farms bordered each other in Mitchell County. They both ended up in Glasscock County years later where Ruth also taught Bud. From the time Bud and I started dating, I knew we were suppose to be together, and it has been a blessing to be a part of this family. For the little great-grandchildren who didn't know her then--your Gran had a very strong love and loyalty for her family. She personally demonstrated a strong work ethic whether it was doing farm/ranch work or managing a company. She set an excellent example for you to live up to. I hope all of you got those genes. Love, Aunt Margaret

Robyn and I will be praying for your family this week. Martha welcomed us to Big Spring as generously as any person could. She was a very important part of the Senior Adult Choir and LLL. During many trips she took it upon herself to be the social director. What a very lovely person she was to our family and so many others. God bless you in the days ahead. We cherish her memories.

Pat, Bud, Jaylene - your spouses, children and grandchildren - I'm sorry for your loss. Martha was a neat lady. I remember that she was always patient with me. I remember a few family reunions at your parents house. People everywhere and yet Martha kept her cool. Even though I haven't seen her in sevaral years, I think very kindly of her. I loved her and will miss her.
