Marshall C. Louder, 88, of Tarzan, died on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at Manor Park in Midland. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Stanton. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday evening at the Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton.Born January 24, 1926, Marshall was the son of the late Raymond and Mattie (Marshall) Louder. He grew up in the Courtney Community where he graduated high school. He attended Howard Payne University and served in the United States Army in the Pacific Theater in the Philippine Islands during World War II. He married Wanda Sprawls November 18, 1946 in Lamesa. She preceded him in death July 27, 1992. He later married Dollie Swanson August 7, 1993 who also preceded him in death August 18, 2005.Marshall farmed in Martin County all of his life. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tarzan and was the Treasurer and Adult Sunday School Teacher there for 58 years. He was also a Mason for 55 years. Marshall served as trustee on the Grady ISD School Board. His greatest love was watching his grandkids grow up and compete in their activities. He was competing right along with them from the stands.He is survived by one son, Johnny Louder and wife, Sandy; one daughter, Teresa Herm and husband, Steve, and one brother, Billy Louder all of Stanton. Also surviving are four grandsons, Shane Louder and wife, Billye of Midland, Jody Louder and wife, Jessica of Midland, Jeremy Louder and wife, Amanda of Stanton, and Kyle Herm and wife, Lezlie of The Woodlands; one granddaughter, Laura Jordan, and husband Dustin of Lubbock; ten great grandchildren, Landry, Reese, Aiden, Braxton, Price and Alexis Louder, Kelan and Kyler Jordan, and Sloane and Lane Herm.Marshall is also survived by his wife Dollie's family, Donna Stephenson of Midland, and her family; Johnny Swanson and wife, Coco of Corpus Christi and their family; and Jackie Swanson and wife, Stella of Midland and their family.In addition to his parents and wives, Marshall was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cecilia Leigh Louder.The family suggests memorials be made to the Buckner's Children's Home, 129 Brentwood Ave., Lubbock, TX 79416, or to the charity of one's choice.Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home of Stanton.
