Marilyn Gerene Carson, 72, of Big Spring, died on Thursday, November 4, 2010, at the Hospice House of Odessa. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, November 8, 2010 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Wade Cobb, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday, November 7, 2010, at the funeral home.She was born on July 17, 1938, in Slaton, Texas and moved to Center Point as a child where her parents, John W. and Addie Anderson farmed. She graduated from Center Point High School. Marilyn met Boyd Carson, who was stationed at Webb Air Force Base. They married on March 15, 1958 in Big Spring and lived all over the world, returning to Big Spring in 1976. Since that time, Mrs. Carson has worked for the Big Spring Police Department, Howard County Sheriff's Department, Texas Rangers and Texas Highway Patrol. In 1994, she was elected to the position of Justice of the Peace, retiring in 2002. Survivors include her husband, Boyd Carson of Big Spring; one daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Tom Ralston of Big Spring; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Georgina Carson of Mansfield, Jimmy and Vickie Carson and Douglas and Katricia Carson all of Big Spring; one brother and sister-in-law, Gary Lee and Dee Anderson of San Antonio; seventeen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Carl Anderson.
