A vigil service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday, February 16, 2018 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.She was born August 1, 1921 near Redford, Texas and married Manuel C. Cervantes, Sr. November 28, 1938 in Marfa. He preceded her in death October 8, 2008.Maria moved to Big Spring from Marfa in 1942. She worked at Hall Bennett Hospital and was member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish and Cursillistas.Survivors include granddaughters, Sylvia Milan (Francisco) of Big Spring, Belinda Yanez (Pablo) of San Angelo, Priscilla Haro (Jesse) of San Antonio and Joanne Meek (Justin) of Big Spring; grandsons, Michael Herrera (Irene), Manuel C. Cervantes III (Michelle) and Donald Cervantes (Stephanie) all of Big Spring; daughter-in-law, Margaret Cervantes of Big Spring; sister, Pabla Garcia (Aristeo) of Lake Arthur, New Mexico; 18 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildrenIn addition to her husband she is preceded in death by two sons, Manuel Cervantes and Manuel Cervantes, Jr.; a daughter, Noemi Herrera; parents, Pablo and Juana Quintela; a sister, Josefa Garcia; three brothers, Manuel Quintela, Daniel Quintela and Enrique Quintela and one great grandson, Richard Haro, Jr.Pallbearers will be Michael Herrera, Manual Cervantes III, Donald Cervantes, Paul Anthony Yanez, Matthew Haro and Dominick Cervantes.Honorary Pallbearers will be Isaac Haro, Brandon Williams, Jesse Haro Jr., Manuel Cervantes IV, and Marcus Cervantes.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home and Crematory.
