Maria Escovedo Rodriguez, 67, of Big Spring, died on Wednesday, January 26, 2005, at the Hospice Inpatient Unit Midland Memorial Hospital. Vigil services will be at 7:30 PM Thursday at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 28, 2005 at the St. Thomas Catholic Church with Rev. James Plagens, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.She was born on November 1, 1937, in Fort Davis, Texas and married Juan Rodriguez, Sr. on October 29, 1954 in Big Spring. Mrs. Rodriguez had lived in Big Spring since 1954 and had worked for 15 years in the Big Spring ISD Cafeteria. She loved playing bingo and enjoyed any sport and activities that her children or grandchildren were involved in. Maria loved her family especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church for over 50 years, a member of the Cursillitas, the Alter Society and the Guadalupanas. She was very involved in the church festival and other church activities.Survivors include her husband, Juan Rodriguez, Sr. of Big Spring; eight sons and seven daughters-in-law, Juan, Jr. and Sylvia Rodriguez, Frank and Cindy Rodriguez, Jimmy and Glenda Rodriguez, Andy and Roberta Rodriguez, Joe Rodriguez, Raymond and Pricillia Rodriguez and Gene Tracy and Sandra Rodriguez all of Big Spring and Larry and Patricia Rodriguez of San Angelo; two daughters, Dorothy Rodriguez and Pauline Hilario both of Big Spring; seven sisters, Erminia Franco, Eufemia Brown, Erlinda Rios, Yolanda Diaz, Irene Lara, Luisa Hernandez and Adela Dominguez; seven brothers, Frank Jr. Escovedo, David Escovedo, Margarito Escovedo, Albert Escovedo, Trini Escovedo, Freddy Escovedo and Alfonso (Leo) Escovedo; 37 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by one son, Tony Rodriguez, one brother, Carlos Escovedo and her parents, Francisco and Mercedes J.
