Maria Delia Herebia, 76, of Alice, TX passed away on Thursday, February 27th. A visitation will begin at 10am on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory. Rosary will be at 7 pm that same evening. Services will be 10am on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Midland, TX.
Maria was born on April 5, 1948 in Alice, TX to Lucila Hinojosa and George Fuentes. They had one more child, Joe Fuentes before divorcing. Lucila then married George Morgan. At this time, Maria went to live with her grandmother, Juanita Hinojosa until she was sixteen years old. Her mother, Lucila Morgan, had George Morgan Jr. (Lucy, Belinda), Sylvia Garza (Fred), Norma Morgan, and Barbara Morgan (Clyde). Her dad, George Fuentes, married Consuelo and she had Sandra (Isabel-Cheve) De La Rosa, George Fuentes Jr., Norma (Ignacio) Valero, Julio Fuentes, Robert (Rose) Fuentes, Adan (Luz Maria) Fuentes. At sixteen years old she married Joe Herebia Jr. and they had three children Rebecca, Joe and Jeffrey.
Maria was a loving wife and mother. She loved crafting, plants and cooking. Something her and her sister Norma Valero had in common. She was mostly a “stay at home” mom. She was always helping at the schools and being room mother for all her children. She was a mom you could always depend on being there for whatever needs her children had. After 28 years of marriage, she and Joe Herebia Jr., divorced. She then, worked for Target, Walmart and other jobs until her health kept her from working and she became disabled. She was loved by all when she did work. She had many kids (fellow employees) that would call her mom. She especially was loved by her grandchildren and all her nephews and nieces that grew up knowing her. They all have stories and memories that they will all cherish in remembrance of her.
Maria is survived by her children, Rebecca (Jessie) Saiz, Joe Herebia III (Amanda Garcia) and Jeffrey Herebia. Her grandchildren Jennifer Renee Coronado (Corey Loudermill) and Rose Saiz, Cierra Garcia and
Joe Herebia IV. Her great grandchildren Dante Coronado and Cayden Johnson. Numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. Her grandpuppies Baby Saiz and Stormy Jade Loudermill.
Maria is preceded in death by Juanita Hinojosa, George Fuentes, Julio Fuentes, George Morgan Sr., Herlinda Fuentes, Gabriel Navarro, George Morgan Jr., Lucila Morgan, Joe Fuentes, Michelle Nicole Saiz, and Avelino Herebia.
The family would like to express their gratitude towards the Aides, Nurses and All the staff at Ashton Nursing Home. She had been living there for the past 5 years. (It would have been 5 years in March)
They were always very attentive! They all cared and loved my mom! They always made my family very comfortable with her staying there. We will always be grateful for everything they did for our mom!!! We would also like to thank Hospice for caring for our mom on her last days. She wasn’t there for long, but they were all very good people. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!
