Marguerite Phillips

Marguerite Phillips, 98, of Big Spring, died on Wednesday, October 15, 2008, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, October 17, 2008 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Derrick Looney, pastor of First Baptist Church in Forsan, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.She was born on June 3, 1910, in Glasscock County, Texas and married V. E. "Vic" Phillips on December 3, 1928 in Big Spring, Texas. He preceded her in death on February 9, 1996.She loved her family, especially having the grandchildren for the summer. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and embroidering and was an avid gardener. She was a member of the Forsan Sewing Club, the Glasscock County Home Demonstration Club and the First Baptist Church in Forsan.Survivors include one daughter & son-in-law, Virginia and Ervin Bridge of Lomax; two sons & a daughter-in-law, Charles and Lois Phillips of Big Spring and Gene Phillips of Plains; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.
