Our beloved mother and grandmother, Margrit Dorothea Napierski Porter, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026, in Midland, Texas.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 22, 2026 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Meyer officiating. A reception will follow the service at the Branch at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Texas Veterans Cemetery in Abilene at 3:00pm.
Margrit was born on February 18th, 1939, in Niedenburg, Prussia to Albert Gustov Wilhelm Napierski and Frieda Emma Krause Napierski. Margrit’s warm presence and caring nature left an undeniable mark on all who knew her. Her ability to provide comfort and love made her an exceptional caregiver, a role she embraced wholeheartedly.
Jim & Margrit were married December 12th, 1958 at the Romer in Frankfurt, Germany. She had a wonderful career in Civil Service with the US Army of more than 15 years. They were avid Square Dancers in the 1990s. She received an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration.
Margrit’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. Her laughter, her love of life, and her ability to make everyone feel cherished will be sorely missed but never forgotten.
Our mother was the heart and soul of our family, raising three sons: Michael, James and Duane with love and dedication. She was known for her warm smile, generous spirit and passion for gardening and cooking. She leaves behind her husband, children, grandchildren, family and friends who will cherish her memory forever.
As we say goodbye to Margrit, Gotsch, Doro, Mom, Mutti, Omi, Tante we celebrate the life of a woman who was a beacon of kindness and love. Her legacy is one of unwavering devotion to her family, a testament to the beautiful life she lived, and the countless lives she touched. Margrit’s memory will be treasured forever, as we hold her close in our hearts and remember the light she brought into this world.
