Marge McCormick passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at the Village at Manor Park in Midland. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, May 1, 2009 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. Pat Ray, pastor of Prairie View Baptist Church, officiating.Margery Evelyn Tucker McCormick was born Saturday, May 4, 1918 in Cooper, Texas to William Orion Tucker and Myrtle Elizabeth Morgan Tucker. The oldest of four children, she was known to her siblings as "Sister".At age four her family moved to Coahoma. She was educated at Coahoma and Big Spring. On November 25, 1936 she married Weldon McCormick in Big Spring, who preceded her in death on April 29, 2000 after 63 years of marriage.Marge was a homemaker and enjoyed oil painting, crocheting, sewing and her grandchildren. After farming for many years, Marge and Weldon spent their retirement years fishing at Del Rio.Mrs. McCormick is survived by a daughter, Wanda Hayes and husband, Jerry of Midland and their two sons, Casey Hayes and wife, Suzanne of Midland and Brad Hayes and wife, Carolyn of Odessa; a son, Jerry McCormick and wife, Sue of Big Spring and their children, Meleney Lewis of Odessa and Jason McCormick; granddaughters, Kelly Chase and husband, Jeff and Kenda McCormick all of Lubbock; nine great grandchildren; her sister, Billie Flanagan and husband, Curtis of Stanton; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Long of Bentonville, Arkansas and many nieces and nephews.She was also preceded in death by a son, Jesse McCormick and wife, Ila Mae; a brother and sister.The family wishes to express our sincere appreciation for the loving care and attention shown by the staff of Manor Park Younger Center, with special thanks to Dana, Lisa and Cara.
