Margaret Theresa Franks

Margaret Theresa Franks, 94 of Stanton, Texas passed away on December 6, 2023. Services will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 9, at Evergreen Cemetery, Stanton. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 8, 2023 at Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton, Texas.

Margaret was born August 21, 1929 in Stanton, Texas on the family farm to Walter Curtis Flanagan and Annie (Peters) Flanagan. She attended school in Stanton, one of the last to go to the local convent school. In March 1953, she married Alfred Franks and lived in Martin and Midland Counties all of her life.

Margaret is survived by her two sons, George (wife) Donna and James (wife) Phyllis. Five grandchildren and six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death byb her husband of 59 years, Alfred, one brother, Curtis and one sister, Annie Laurie Fox.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Cimarron Place, where she spent her last days.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to Martin County Senior Center, where she enjoyed many happy times.

Pallbearers will be deacons of First Baptist Church where she worshiped for many years.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton, Texas.
