Margaret "Pat" Brown, 82, of Midland, passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2007, at the Hospice of Midland Inpatient Unit. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, October 15, 2007 at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, Sunday, October 14, 2007 at the funeral home.Pat was born on December 4, 1924, in Abilene, Texas to C.V. and Emmie Swinson. She married J.D. Brown on April 16, 1945 in Abilene, Texas. He preceded Pat in death on December 23, 1979.Pat lived in the Midland community since 1958. She worked at Walgreen's for 20 years during the day. At night, she worked as a sitter in the church nursery at Cornerstone Christian Fellowship. She loved all the children and being around people. She loved collecting and fishing. She especially loved her dogs, Spike and Spook.Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Tommy Whiddon of Midland; daughter, Lorena Madry of Midland; daughter and son-in-law, Deanna and Glenn Horn of Charleston, West Virginia; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Janet Brown of Flower Mound, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild on the way; brother, Homer Swinson of Stanton; sister, Maybelle Trout of Eastland; and sister, Birdie Daniels of Abilene. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and two sisters.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Dear Family, We were very saddend to hear of Margarets death and even more sad we did not receive the news until after her funeral. Margaret was so special to us and our family, she truly loved the children she kept and treated all of them as her own. She was one of the most gentle, kind, loving and generous people I have ever had the priveledge to call my friend. She was always faithful at the church nursery and she would also come over bright and early everytime we had a garage sale and take care of the kids for me but never let me pay her. Our children are now 23, 21, 18 and 14 and she was a vital person in each of their lives. I'm so sorry we did not keep in touch with the woman who meant so much to our family and played such a vital role in our lives.
