Margaret Louise Ray, 86, of New Braunfels, formerly of Big Spring, died on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, in a New Braunfels nursing home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Mt. Olive Memorial Park in Big Spring.She was born on January 22, 1923, in Thurber, Texas and married Oliver Ames Ray in 1940 in Letexo, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1969.She lived in Big Spring from 1955 until 2005 when she moved to New Braunfels. She was a homemaker. A devoted member of College Park Church of God, she held the position of Sunday School teacher and Sunday School superintendent for several years. She volunteered at the Big Spring State Hospital Chalet for many years.Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Larry Ames Ray and wife, Helen of New Braunfels; one granddaughter, Theressa Engel and husband, Ryan of New Braunfels; two great grandsons, Mitchell Ames Engel and Mason Reno Engel both of New Braunfels; one brother, William R. Hall of Robert Lee; and several nieces & nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, James Artie Hall and Minnie Leola Kitchen; four sisters, Dorothy Tullis, Linnie Issac, Florence Brewer and Myrtle Moore; and one brother, E. L.
