Margaret \Marge\ Hagelstein, 82, of Midland, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2017. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 23, 2017 from 6:00-8:00PM at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 10:00AM at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel.Marge was born on August 23, 1935 to Harriette and John Studer in Uvalde, TX.Marge grew up in Uvalde, Texas, graduating from Uvalde High School in 1953. She enjoyed playing tennis and other sports and was involved in student government. After graduating she attended Sul Ross State University where she met and married the love of her life Richard (Dick) Hagelstein. They lived in several small towns in Texas through out their marriage all the way from Van Horn to Stinnett. They moved to Midland in 1975 where she worked as a secretary. They joined and became active members of Crestview Baptist Church. She retired from Unocal in 1997.Marge loved painting, traveling, going to the beach, and gardening. She loved spending time with her family. Her faith was very important to her.Marge is survived by her husband of 63 years Richard (Dick) Hagelstein, sons Rick Hagelstein and wife Lisa of Midland, Texas, Ron Hagelstein and wife Sarah of Midland, Texas, and Lee Hagelstein and wife Terri of Mansfield, Texas. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jessica and Miguel Cardenas of Pflugerville, Texas, Bryce and Meagan Hagelstein of Houston, Texas, Coyt Hagelstein of Lubbock, Texas, Adam and Kelsi Hagelstein of Houston, Texas, and Ryan Hagelstein of Midland, Texas as well as 6 great grandchildren.Marge was preceded in death by her parents John and Harriette Studer, sisters Dorothy Lee Watson and Kathryn Agnes Purdom, and brother Rodney Studer.Honorary pallbearers will be her Sunday School Class, Blessed at Crestview Baptist Church.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
