Marga Rae Warrington Pipes was born in Lovington, NM, on January 17, 1942, to Ray and Judy Warrington. She graduated as salutatorian from Stanton High School in 1960. She was an avid musician, playing guitar and piano, and in the 1950’s occasionally performed on local television with her sister, Marianne. After high school, she worked as a nurse’s aid at Stanton Hospital. She married Gary Lew Pipes on June 25, 1961.
Gary and Marga moved all over the country while Gary served in the U.S. Coast Guard until retiring in 1977, to Odessa, TX. Marga was proud to be a military wife and was often active in the Wives’ Clubs on the bases where Gary served. When they lived in New Orleans in the 1970’s, she worked as a ward clerk at Meadowbrook Hospital. During her later years, Marga and Gary lived in Midland, TX. Marga loved animals, especially the dogs that were her companions during her life, including most recently Rose, and then Lilly, who were of great comfort to her during her final years. She died at Midland Memorial Hospital on March 1, 2022, after a lengthy illness.
