Cloetta Campbell, 86, went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Sunday, October 24, 2004. Cloetta was born July 22, 1918 to Cleo and Boon Short in Fannin County. Services will be held Friday, October 29, 2004 at 3:00 pm at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel. Internment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2004 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home, 3800 N. Big Spring Street.She lived in Snyder and Ft. Worth before moving to Midland in 1980. After moving to Midland she worked for Levi Straus until the factory closed. She attended Midland College where she enrolled in cake decorating and began to do wedding cakes for the public. She continued this talent for many years and was called upon from several other cities to do wedding cakes. Her wonderful sense of humor, loving spirit and her caring nature will be missed by everyone who knew her. She was the "caretaker" for her entire family. She loved to take care of everyone. Especially her great-grandchildren (Cadi and Cari). She is survived by one daughter, Shirley Spaulding and her husband Clyde of Midland; one granddaughter, Sandi Gillette and her husband Richard of Midland; one grandson Jerry Spaulding and his wife Kenda of Frisco, TX; two great granddaughters, Cadi and Cari Gillette of Midland; three brothers, Don and wife June of Dalhart, TX; Kenneth and wife Olla Mae of Azle, TX; and William Roy and wife Sandra of Graham, TX; two sisters, Frances Norris of Lubbock, TX; and Maye Wall and husband Ernest of Portales, N.M.; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends including her little Sheltie dog, Jack, who was her faithful and constant companion.She was preceded in death by her husband, James Odell Campbell; her parents, Cleo and Boon Short; two brothers, CB Short and Otha Dee Short. She was a member of Kelview Heights Baptist Church where she leaves many wonderful friends.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home of Midland.
