Richmond, Mabel, 99, of Big Spring, died on Saturday, June 3, 2000, in a local nursing home. Graveside funeral services will be at 11:30 AM Monday, June 5, 2000, at Trinity Memorial Park with Chaplain Jimmy Braswell of Home Hospice, officiating. She was born on May 4, 1901 in Hoisington, Kansas and married Harold Richmond in 1924 and he preceded her in death. She attended Southwestern University in Winfield, Kansas and taught school in Kansas for a number of years. Mrs. Richmond moved to Big spring in 1955 and had lived at Canterbury for over 20 years. Survivors include one brother, Orville Shapland of Capitan, New Mexico; one niece, Pat Preheim of Capitan, New Mexico; and one nephew, Bob Shapland of Bradenton, Florida. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Morris Shapland in 1929. Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.,
