Mable “Nell” York Kupper quietly departed this world Sunday, March 13, 2022, to attend the most amazing family reunion in Heaven with all of her loved ones, who have gone before who she missed so dearly.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
Nell was born July 2, 1923 to Charles T. Rountree and Lela K. Fread in Dawson, Texas. She graduated from Dawson High School. She married E.W. York in 1940 and married Tracy L. Kupper in 1961. She was a loving mother, Gran-Gran, Nana, sister, aunt (“Myrt”) and friend. Always taking care of everyone, her family was her life song, her source of pride, joy and love. She worked at Webb Air Force Base and most of the dry cleaners in town over the years and loved to sew for herself and her family. She was an amazing cook and loved to spoil her family with her delicious food. She collected decorative plates from places around the U.S. and the world. She was always excited to get a new, unique plate from family and friends who brought her new treasures. She was strong, courageous, loving and an inspiration of strength, grace and kindness to her family. She was a member of East Fourth Baptist Church.
She is survived by four generations of family who were blessed to know her: Her son, Wayne York (Kathy) and daughter, Margaret Beck. Her grandchildren: Connie Schooler (Kevan), Angie Worley (James), Kathy Mason, Micah Beck (Tammy), Brian Beck (Lori), Stephanie Braxton (Jacob), Meeghan Gard (Bryan Rhodes) and Kristin Vinson (Matt). Her great-grandchildren: Leela Schooler, Emmalee Schooler (Ethan Brannon), Timothy Worley (Kaela), Crystal Bustamante (Chris), Scott Mason (Amanda), Ryan Mason (Ashley Russo), Mikayla Beck, Dylan Beck, Catrina “Cami” Donaho, Jacob Mitchell, Steven Beck, Aaron Farr, Alexys Yeats, Brock Gard, Baylee Gard, Braye Gard, Savannah Vinson, Harper Vinson and Quinn Vinson. Her great-great-grandchildren: Bailee Rizo, Alison Bustamante, Olivia Bustamante, Taelor Worley, Elliot Worley, Celia Mason and one more Mason girl on the way, Asher Mitchell, Jonah Donaho and Damien Farr. She also leaves behind many treasured nieces, nephews and other extended family.
