Lynda Carol Davis, 53, of Big Spring, died on Wednesday, February 9, 2005, in a Midland hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 12, 2005 at the East 4th Street Baptist Church in Big Spring with Rev. Rex Clayton, pastor, and Rev. Dudley Mullins, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Kermit, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.She was born on May 2, 1951, in Big Spring, Texas.Lynda graduated from Big Spring High School in 1969 and from Howard Payne University in 1973. While at Howard Payne she was in the honor's program in the Douglas McArthur Academy of Freedom. She had worked as a long distance telephone operator for AT & T for 23 years. Lynda's hobbies were collecting Beanie Babies, antique bottles, stamps and coins. Her loves were her family, church and watching football.She was a member of East 4th Street Baptist Church, a member of the Communication Workers of America, the Pioneer Club, the Howard Payne University Alumni Association and the Big Spring High School Ex's Association.Survivors include her mother, Latrice Davis of Big Spring; her brother and sister-in-law, Charles Wayne and Carol Davis of Austin; her aunt, Mrs. Grady Davis of China Springs; her uncles and aunts, Bill and Dorothy Ellis, Travis and Peggy Ellis, Bob and Treva Ellis and Weldon and Gladys Irion all of Amarillo and numerous cousins.. She was preceded in death by her father, Earl L. "Dick" Davis; her grandparents, N. L. and Ellen Davis and Silas and Maurine Ellis and several aunts and uncles.The family suggests memorials to either the Building Fund or Library Fund at East 4th Street Baptist Church, 401 E. 4th, Big Spring, Texas 79720.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
