Lucy Narbaiz Ochoa, 71, of Big Spring, died Sunday, November 11, 2012 in a Lubbock hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with a vigil service to follow at 7:00 PM.Lucy was born March 4, 1941 in Buda, Texas to George and Santos Narbaiz. She married Saragosa Ochoa January 18, 1963. They were planning on celebrating their upcoming 50th anniversary in January 2013.She was a hairdresser for the majority of her life until becoming disabled in 1999. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish. Lucy lived for her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandbaby. She enjoyed life to the fullest and was a fighter. She fought her heart problems with such determination until the very end when God thought it was time for another precious angel. She was strong in her faith and attended church every Sunday until recently when she became ill. Lucy never met a stranger and was always willing to help those in need. She enjoyed the companionship of her friends at the Senior Citizen Center and most recently volunteering at the Chalet with her sister, Lupe. Lucy will be dearly missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched.She is survived by her husband, Saragosa Ochoa; her only child and daughter, Patsy Sanchez and son-in-law, Henry Sanchez of Big Spring; two grandchildren, Amanda and Jared Sanchez of Big Spring; one great grandchild, 2 year old Amelia Sara Islas; one sister, Lupe Barraza of Big Spring; one brother, Alfonso (Poncho) Narbaiz of Big Spring; one niece, Teresa Marlow of Big Spring; two nephews, Richard Barraza of Big Spring and George Narbaiz and one nephew, Gilbert Narbaiz whom they raised as their son. She is also survived by numerous grand-nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Santos Narbaiz; and one brother, Gilbert Narbaiz, Sr.Pallbearers will be Jared Sanchez, Nic Narbaiz, Cody Barraza, James Marlow, John Islas and Gilbert Narbaiz.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
