Jarmes, Lucy, 72, of Big Spring, died on Friday, January 12, 2001, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 16, 2001, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Dr. Ed Williamson, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Lucy was born April 23, 1928 at Rotan, Texas to Lige and Verna Prewit. She graduated from Stamford High School and was working at the First National Bank in Big Spring in 1963 when she met her future husband, Jay Jarmes, while he was attending Pilot Training at Webb Air Force Base. They married on February 14, 1965 in Big Spring. They retired back to Big Spring in 1997. They were married nearly 36 years in a marriage of happiness and friendship. Lucy was a kind, caring, loving Christian woman who had the ability to make friends with everyone she met. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Jay Jarmes of Big Spring; four brothers and their spouses, Gene and Doris Prewit of Winters, Bob and Dorothy Prewit of Silver City, New Mexico, Jim and Linda Prewit of Houston and Carl and Janice Prewit of Corpus Christi; four sisters and their spouses, Jane and Bill Lloyd of Graham, Faye Stubbs of San Angelo, Sue Rutherford of Midland and Verna Davis and Don Finkenbinder of Big Spring. She was preceded in death by her parents, Verna Yarbro Prewit and William Elijah (Lige) Prewit and three brothers, Bill Prewit, Don Prewit and Tommy Prewit. The family suggests memorials to the donor's favorite charity.
