Lucille Funderburg Hayter

Lucille Ann Funderburg Hayter, 91 of Midland, passed away on March 11, 2022. A viewing will be held from 5pm-7pm on Monday, March 14, 2022 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at the First Baptist Chapel. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Lucille was born in Copperas Cove, Texas on May 8, 1930. She married Jerry Ray Funderburg on January 4, 1949. Together they had four children, Larry Funderburg (Susan), Marsha Funderburg Hankins, Susan Funderburg Collins (Bobby), and Alan Funderburg (Debra). Lucille also had 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Lucille loved gardening, crocheting, and reading, especially her Bible. She was always making friends at work, church, or the grocery store because she loved socializing. Lucille got her GED at 62 years old and went on to earn her real estate license. She was very proud of this accomplishment.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Weldon Horton, Sam Horton, Doris Green, and Geneva Turner. Family wishes to express their gratitude to hospice for their care and to First Baptist Church for their support.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Interim Hospice.
