Lucile Ann Campbell passed away suddenly following surgery at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. She was born September 18, 1922 to Mildred Lucile Lutz and Frederick Kiechle in Rowena, Texas. She married Winfred Roland Campbell on January 17, 1947 in San Angelo and moved to Big Spring in 1951. After graduating from Texas Christian University, she taught school in Ballinger for 4 years, San Angelo for one, and Goliad Junior High in Big Spring for 11. Ann was a devout Christian and a member of the First Christian Church of Big Spring. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother with priorities always focused on family. She was lovingly referred to as "Meemaw" and "Grandma" by her grandchildren and "Honey-Pot" by her loving husband. She enjoyed gardening and was a "history enthusiast". Ann is survived by her husband of 61 years, Winfred Roland; two sons, Charles Richard (Rick) of Houston and Jason Dewey of Sand Springs; two daughters, Jan Bynum of Dallas and Betsy Rutledge of Houston; four grandsons, Richard Campbell serving in the Navy, Thomas Campbell of Houston, Kory Rutledge and Kurt Rutledge of Houston; three grand-daughters, Susan English of Pittsburgh, Kelli Cox of Dallas, and Kara Rutledge of Houston; three great grand-daughters, Alexis Bynum of Dallas, Elizabeth English of Pittsburgh, and Kylah Nelson of Oklahoma City. Graveside services will be held at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring, Texas, at 2:30 PM Saturday, March 22, 2008 with the Reverend Donita Lea, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Coahoma, officiating. The family suggests memorials be made to Volunteers of America Texas, 1424 Hemphill St., Fort Worth, TX 76104.
