Lowell Glen Osborn died on Sunday, November 13, 2016. He was born in Sweetwater, Texas on December 4, 1929. Glen grew up in Idalou, Ralls, Abilene, and Midland, Texas. He graduated in Midland in 1948. Upon his graduation, he went to work for Geophysical World looking for oil and was drafted into the United States Army in January of 1951. After basic, he went to OCS and earned the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. He was then sent to Korea as a forward observer. Glen received a Bronze Star medal for meritorious service as an observer. He was honorably discharged after Armistice was signed in July of 1953. After leaving the service, Glen returned to his geophysical work until January of 1963 when he started working with the Texas Highway Department until his retirement. He also was contracted out for several companies for a few years. He met his most loving wife, Frances, at church in 1979. They worked together in bus ministry for several years. They were members of Fairmont Park Church of Christ.Glen was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Osborn, in October of 2010. He was also preceded in death by his mother, Gussie, in 1996; father in 1986; his youngest daughter, Myra King, in 1983; brother, Kendal, in 1998; and his sister-in-law in January of 2010.He is survived by his daughter, Linda Hicks and husband Kyle; son, Mark Osborn; step-daughter, Shirley Halbert and husband Nick; grandchildren, Jammie Chaney, Misty Wood, Melissa Warden, Mechelle McNichols, Crystal Osborn, and Danny Glen Howell; two step-grandchildren, Bill Childers, Jr. and Stephanie Choate; great-grandchildren, Damion Davis, Jarod Wood, Chloe Warden, Ariel Warden, Haley Carrasco, Sonny Carrasco Jr., Ryan Honea, Will Honea, and Dorresa Honea; and step-great-grandchildren, Hailey Williamson, Ali Childers, Josh Duran, Noah Duran and Logan McNichols and step-great-great-granddaughter Millie Williamson. Glen was extremely proud of all of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.A visitation was held at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home from 7:00pm-9:00pm on Tuesday, November 15, 2016. Funeral services are being held at Fairmont Park Church of Christ at 1:00pm on Wednesday, November 16, 2016. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. ,
