I suppose I should address this to my old friend Mark. Mark; I thought about those crazy years Cliff and you and I spent coming or going or hanging out at your home on Ashby and it occurred to me that I know 3 things about your mother. First I know she was the glue that held your family together. She was the behind the scenes strength that made it all work day after day. Year after year she managed it, she made life work for the ones she loved. Second; She always made me feel welcome. she invited me into her home, to her table to eat. She, without saying it, invited me into her family. And lastly I know she is at home now. She and Jack have talked for hours. I know that if you saw her now you would know her as you knew her as a child. Renewed body, renewed eyes and a renewed mind. I know, if she could, she would tell you "it is well with my soul for I have peace like a river and I love you and I will hug you again one day". Mark, yall are always welcome here. We could sit in the shade of the big oaks and laugh about this crazy fleeting life.. Ernie Wilson

I only knew her for 10 years as Lovie. Her and Catfish Jack were my next door neighbors on Ashby Street in Baytown. They were "good people", as folks used to say and that was all a person had to say to let folks know they were quality neighbors. Lovie was always upbeat and did indeed love to laugh. God Bless.
